Outreach Mentoring Program
Overview:
The Outreach Mentoring Program (OMP) is designed to support students who are facing academic challenges here at Spalding. The program involves a coordinated effort between the student, the student’s parents, the student’s mentor, and a small team of additional teachers who participate in the mentoring program.
Program Philosophy:
Ultimately, the success of our students lies within themselves. Students are encouraged to commit to taking positive actions in regards to their course work and academic tasks.
Process for Participation:
- Guidance counselors, teachers, school administrators, and parents may refer a student to the program.
- Each of the student’s teachers will be asked to complete a questionnaire to help determine if it is likely that the student could benefit from the program.
- Once it has been determined that a student could benefit from the program, and, if a space is available at that time, the student will then be matched up with a mentor teacher.
