    210-583

  • How do I make an appointment to see my Guidance Counselor?

    Answer:

Contact your counselor, by e-mail, from home.  (This is a great way to contact your Guidance Counselor.)

See Mrs. Bach or Mrs. Green, the guidance secretaries, and tell either of them that you would like to make an appointment.

Before homeroom, on the way to lunch, or after school come down to guidance; if your counselor is busy, make an appointment with Mrs. Bach or Mrs. Green.

Leave a note in the box attached to your counselor's door.

In the case of an emergency, you do not have to make an appointment.

  • How do I get homework/class work when I am absent?

    Answer:

Students should have the phone numbers of at least two other students in each of their classes. When absent for a day or two call up your classmates to get information on assignments and quizzes. The day you return to school is the day your missed assignments are due!

When you are going to be absent for a week or longer the best way to keep on top of your schoolwork is to e-mail each of your teachers regarding work. Some teachers may email your work to you. If something needs to be sent home, ask the teacher to leave it in the front office, with the student's name on it, for a parent or guardian to pick up.

  • How do I e-mail my teachers?

    Answer:

There is a set formula for finding out teachers' e-mail addresses: Last name plus first initial then @archbishopspalding.org (For example, phillipsc@archbishopspalding.org)

·         How do I obtain a work permit?

Answer:

The State of Maryland has revised their procedure for applying for a work permit.  You can now apply on line.  The website is www.dllr.state.md.us; scroll down to the Quick Links section and click on the link for Minor Work Permit.  Follow the instructions found in the column on the left entitled “INSTRUCTIONS – MINOR”.

The Guidance secretaries, Mrs. Bach and Mrs. Green, still have a small supply of work permits in the paper form available, but when they are gone we can no longer order them.  The application will then need to be submitted on line. Paper permits are filled out and signed by the student, the employer and the student’s parent. They also need to be returned to the School so they can be officially processed.
