Discussion for the Faculty Skills Survey

Dear tech committee members and technology advocates-

In an effort to avoid an inconvenient committee meeting, I will try to conduct a discussion concerning this skills survey and some other items online. There is a document attached that is the proposed Skills Survery that I would like to give to the faculty this Spring.

It is vastly different than the kind of skills surveys that we used...

I didn't think the survey was too long. Do you think there should be a "occasionally" choice?? You might want to include a a free reponse section regarding other technologies that people are interested in or know about and can teach.

That is the answer that I wanted to see. The problem that worries me is that the discussion board may too strange and intimidating for some people which would discourage them to not participate.

The online format is quick, efficient, and easy to use.  A paper version is lkikely to be put in the to do pile and be lost.  I would change 'seldom' to 'occasionally', it jsut feels more positive.  You may want ot consider adding a field for free response so that people could offer comments as to why they have or have not tired the technique in question.

The word “occasionally” is definitely better.
